Christina is a longtime resident of Ulster County (20+ years), a single mother of two teenagers, who became a treasure hunter after a house fire four years ago. Through that experience she came to learn how many resources our communities lose access to and so have to regenerate when we don't have options for sharing those resources with each other. In response, she created Free to Thrift, a shop to achieve several aims simultaneously: resource redistribution, access to goods for little to no money, value recreation (reselling), charitable disbursements to the local community, and living wage employment. At the heart of her work is reimagining thrift stores as THE community resource.
