The TMI Project Story Hour with Nakinti Nofuru
We often say that talking about taboo subjects is "Too Much Information." But what if TMI is exactly what we need to make the best decisions for ourselves by gleaning necessary information that we were lucky enough to receive because one person was willing to share their true story about an often untold experience? We address that question in this episode of TMI Project Story Hour when we chat with storyteller, activist and writer, Nakinti Nofuru, CEO of Rescue Women Cameroon (REWOCAM)

Raine and Dara: The TMI Project Story Hour
On this episode of The TMI Project Story Hour on No One Like You, TMI Project workshop leaders, Raine Grayson and Dara Lurie, chat with Blake and Julie about TMI's Period Power Stories event, and how they have helped create space for young people to share their stories about menstruation and period poverty.
Growing up, I felt shame for feeling like a boy and liking girls. I didn’t know anyone else who was gender variant or gay and thought I would never find acceptance and love. I longed for a role model to show me that the kind of life I longed for was possible. A person who could swoop down and say, “Don’t worry Julie, one day, you’re going to leave this town and find a place where you belong. Where you are fully embraced and loved for EXACTLY who you are. You don’t need to change anything. Be proud of being YOU.”
Now, I’m older, I left that town and I have a brilliant and beautiful wife who loves my boyish charm and sense of humor. On No One Like You, I’ll introduce you to inspiring, creative local and national folx who share their own stories of how they transformed their kryptonite into their superpower and turned self-consciousness into self-confidence, tragedy into triumph, and pain into power.
We’ll also be playing new and classic music from bands that prominently feature women and lgbtq folks.
We’re going to connect, laugh, talk shit, and take up lots of space…And we’re not going to apologize for it!
