Gary Bassett is the Mayor of the Village of Rhinebeck, as well as the chair of the Hudson 7, a coalition of politicians and water treatment plant operators in the towns and villages between Poughkeepsie and Rhinebeck that draw their drinking water straight out of the Hudson. That's 100,000 Hudson Valley residents! Monitoring, and filtering the Hudson is a day-in, day-out responsibility for the three-year-old group; Gary brings us up-to-speed. And then Jaimie Cloud, of the Cloud Institute for Sustainable Education and Jenny Schinella of Dutchess BOCES join the show to talk about just how important it is today to introduce 'sustainability' into every crevice of our education system.
