20 years after the attacks of 9/11/01, we look back at some of the musical responses to the jingoistic politics of the time, as well as a couple of retrospective new releases. Within a few weeks of the attacks, the Bush administration began what would become the American Empire's longest war by invading Afghanistan. With the invasion of Iraq a year and a half later, opposition to the militarized response to 9/11 grew, and protest songs emerged across the spectrum of genre. We'll hear some hip-hop songs from  prominent outspoken artists of the time, as well as a choir which satirically sang the dishonest and incoherent words spoken by George W Bush.
